National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day

National Prescription Take-Back Day

Mayor Carlo DeMaria, the Everett Health Department, Partnership for Success Collaboration and the Everett Police Department will be sponsoring National Drug Take-Back Day on Saturday, October 28, 2017 from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. Everett residents will be able to drop off any unused or expired medications for safe disposal at the Everett Police Department’s drop-off box. This is part of a national effort to take back prescription drugs.

Everett, like many other communities in Massachusetts, has been greatly impacted by the opioid epidemic. Take back days have provided safe, convenient, and responsible means of disposing prescription drugs, while also educating the general public about the abuse of medications.

In addition, Everett residents are encouraged to make use of the two drop-off location year round, including the Everett Health Department (accessible during City Hall hours at 484 Broadway, 2nd Floor, Room 20), and the Everett Police Department in the main lobby.

For additional information, please contact the Everett Police Department at 617-389-2120, or Paul Guarino at 617-394-2256, or check out www.dea.gov.
