On Tuesday, November 28th the DeMaria administration was pleased to welcome back The Neighborhood Developers (TND) to highlight a project to develop senior and middle-income housing at the St. Therese's property on Broadway.

TND envisions a future in which every neighborhood affords opportunity for all people to thrive. TND’s mission is to bring its core strengths—building homes, engaging neighbors, and fostering economic mobility—to community partnerships that create great neighborhoods where all people can thrive.

The plan for the St. Therese’s property is to build 77 senior apartment units, and a ground floor senior-focused clinic. Also, the site will include six new townhouses that will be offered for purchase to those qualifying as middle-income families.

Mayor DeMaria stated, “We’re excited to have brought The Neighborhood Developers group into Everett with the help of Senator Sal DiDomenico and Representative Joe McGonagle. Senior Housing and Affordable Housing is a top priority of mine. I don’t want people, who have lived here all their lives, to not be able to stay here.”

The Neighborhood Developers has learned that fostering neighbor-to-neighbor connections leads to greater personal investment in the community. They build relationships, elevate leadership, and then support residents to participate in the broader public interest.

The Mayor explained that the cost of housing in Everett, both in terms of home sale prices and rental rates, has drastically increased over the last several years and with a strong market, this trend will only continue. He wants to ensure that the City remains diverse, inclusive, and accessible to all. Disseminate
