- HUMAN SERVICES PROVIDES SENIOR TRANSPORTATION
Do you need a ride to a Doctor’s Appointment or to Grocery Shopping?
The Office of Human Services has provided transportation to medical appointments and nutritional shopping for many years and will continue to provide this valuable service. Many seniors have expressed that getting affordable rides to medical appointments and grocery shopping continues to be a major concern for the elderly population. If you are an Everett Resident, over 60 years of age and need transportation assistance, SCM can take you to your medical appointments, as well as a local supermarket once a week for grocery shopping.
To reserve a ride to a medical appointment, please call 617-625-1191 between 9 A.M. and 1:00 P.M. Rides will be reserved on a first come, first served basis, so you may call in advance (up to 2 weeks) before your appointment. You may also reserve a ride home.
Rides to the Stop & Shop (1st and 3rd weeks of the month) and Market Basket (2nd and 4th weeks of the month) for grocery shopping will be provided for one half of the city on Tuesdays and for the other half on Thursdays, just as they have in the past. Please call
617-625-1191 in advance to make your reservations.
This transportation is supported by a grant from the Executive Office of Elder Affairs as well as The City of Everett. We request donations of $2.50 for rides within Everett and $5 for rides outside the city. These donations are greatly appreciated and will help us continue this much needed transportation for Everett Seniors.
