- The mission of the Department
of Plannin
g and Development is to enhance
the viability of the community as a desirable
place in which to live and work through sound
urban planning practices; housing, human services
and economic development activities that will
primarily benefit persons of low and moderate
income; and by eliminating conditions of slum
and blight.
Our Responsibilities - The Department of Planning
and Development is responsible for community
and economic development and planning and
housing activities for the City of Everett.
We administer the City’s Community Development
Block Grant (CDBG) program, which is funded
by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban
Development.
