The Purchasing
Department is responsible for procuring quality
goods and services necessary for the operations
of all City departments, at the lowest possible
cost. It is the responsibility of the Purchasing
Agent to ensure that all purchases are made
in compliance with Massachusetts General Laws
governing public purchasing. The Purchasing
Department is also responsible for the disposal
of surplus City property. All purchases/disposals
are made in accordance with state law and City
ordinance applicable to public purchasing.
