DESCRIPTION:Mayor Carlo DeMaria invites residents to help plant trees and learn about our tree planting program from the Department of Conservation and Recreation (DCR)\nThe Department of Recreation and Conservation (DCR) will be planting outside of the Old Everett High School at 548 Broadway in Everett to celebrate and promote the DCR’s Greening the Gateway Cities Program (GGCP). Starting this spring of 2023\, GGCP will offer Everett residents free tree plantings for their properties. This program targets concentrated Environmental Justice neighborhoods and areas within gateway cities with lower tree canopy\, older housing stock\, higher wind speeds and a larger renter population. Addressing our urban tree canopy will address both environmental and public health needs in our City. \nTo request a tree through the Greening The Gateway Cities Program (GGCP)\, residents should call 617-626-1459 or visit maurbancanopy.org.
