SUMMARY:BLACK HISTORY MONTH EVENT - Seeds. Roots. Branches: A Living History of Black Families in Everett
DESCRIPTION:Mayor Carlo DeMaria invites all residents to join us for this event as part of the City of Everett’s celebration of Black History Month. \nThe event will include a photo exhibit\, curated by Everett residents in partnership with the City\, providing a glimpse into the memories and experiences of Black families with a long history of living in Everett through images of home life in “The Village” or “The Bottoms\,” to portraits of leaders in the community and beyond. The series provides the viewer with an opportunity to learn more about Black families who have had a presence in Everett – some for nearly two hundred years. The curators hope this exhibit will encourage more dialogue and exchange in Everett among all people and strengthen the bonds of community. The exhibit will be up for viewing February 11\, 2023 – March 3\, 2023.
