DESCRIPTION:Join us as we celebrate St. Patrick’s Day with Irish banter\, live music and comedy at the annual Friendly Sons of Saint Patrick Dinner!\nMayor Carlo DeMaria\, in partnership with State Representative Joe McGonagle\, are pleased to present the annual Friendly Sons of Saint Patrick Dinner. \nThe event will feature performances from Devri\, comedian Dave Russo\, Singing Trooper Dan Clark\, Mary Heavey-Quinn’s Irish step dancers and the Boston Police Gaelic Column of Pipes and Drums.In addition to entertainment\, there will be awards presented to those who serve the community. The honorees will receive the traditional shillelagh as a token of gratitude for their dedication to community service. Day where young women will participate in fun activities and learn about careers in police and fire!\n \nThe City of Everett\, Everett Police and Fire Departments in collaboration with the Massachusetts State Police\, State Police Association of Massachusetts and Tufts University Department of Public Safety are pleased to announce their partnership in hosting G.I.R.L.S. Day 2023! \nG.I.R.L.S. stands for Grit\, Intelligence\, Resilience\, Leadership and Strength. Through this event\, we hope to empower Everett youth girls from ages 5 to 14 years old to explore these typically male-dominated careers as options for them too. This event was started by Everett’s Director of Diversity\, Equity and Inclusion Cathy Draine in collaboration with the Massachusetts State Police. It has now become an annual event that is specific to Everett as part of the City’s celebration of Women’s History Month. \nYoung women will participate in activities like mock crime scene investigations\, visits to the fire house\, physical exercises with state police\, finger printing\, obstacle courses and so much more. \n \nRegister now!\nParticipants must be between the ages of 5 and 14. Irish Americans have contributed to our City and country in all aspects of life throughout history. The City of Everett will be joining in celebrations across the nation to pay tribute to the achievements and contributions of Irish Americans by raising the Irish flag to fly high at 2:00 p.m. at Everett City Hall located between Church Street and Broadway. \nCommunity Reception\nPlease also join us for the continuation of our celebration of Irish American Heritage Month at 3:00 p.m. at Stewart’s Pub located at 140 Jefferson Avenue for food\, music and plenty of fun.
