Job Summary:

The Affordable Housing Program Manager will be responsible for taking the lead on affordable housing development programs in the City of Everett. The incumbent will be responsible for reviewing funding opportunities for affordable housing projects, as well as, frequently interacting with the mayor, other elected and appointed officials, numerous city departments, and outside agencies in regards to affordable housing development projects, programs, and opportunities in the city.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Implementing the City’s Five-Year Affordable Housing Strategy, Everett For Everyone
  • Coordinating review of available funding options for affordable housing development opportunities
  • Working with developers and stakeholders to obtain knowledge about upcoming opportunities available to provide additional affordable housing to vulnerable residents within Everett
  • Collaborating with developers and external stakeholders to review funding opportunities and promote affordable housing development
  • Administering and convening meetings with key stakeholders to ensure maintains a regional lead role in addressing affordable housing issues
  • Providing input into policies, funding initiatives, and regulations
  • Maintaining proper knowledge of various funding sources to stay abreast to changing conditions, laws and regulations
  • Acting as a policy knowledge expert, understanding affordable housing regulations and policies as they apply
  • Creating and deploying Everett Housing Opportunity Fund resources
  • Establishing renter relief and protection programming
  • Creating supportive land use standards
  • Preserving existing affordable units
  • Remediating and redeveloping brownfields
  • Feasibility analysis
