Program Dates and Schedule:

  • Training: Paid training from June 16, 2025 – June 27, 2025, 10 hours per week, with a schedule TBD.
  • Program: From July 1, 2025 – August 23, 2025, 30 hours per week, with a set schedule of 7:00 AM – 1:00 PM, Monday – Friday.

Position Overview

The Beautification Supervisor will lead and oversee a team of youth workers as part of the City of Everett’s Beautification Program. This role is vital in ensuring the success of community beautification projects while fostering teamwork and leadership skills among participants. Supervisors will work in an outdoor setting, gaining valuable experience in team management and contributing to the enhancement of Everett’s public spaces.

Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and mentor a team of youth workers assigned to community beautification tasks, such as landscaping, park cleanup, and maintenance projects.
  • Ensure team members adhere to safety guidelines and maintain proper use of tools and equipment.
  • Act as a role model by demonstrating a strong work ethic, professionalism, and positive attitude.
  • Provide guidance and resolve any issues or challenges within the team.
  • Communicate progress and concerns to program supervisors as needed.
  • Oversee the daily setup and breakdown of work areas and ensure all tasks are completed efficiently.

Requirements:

  • Must be 18 years or older.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Experience or passion for working with and/or overseeing youth in an outdoor setting preferred.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently.
  • Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions.

Training Provided:

During the two-week training period, supervisors will complete essential certifications and gain valuable knowledge, including:

  • CPR/First Aid Certification
  • Mandated Reporter Training
  • Sexual Harassment Prevention Training
  • Supervisory skills for managing youth in an outdoor setting.

Physical Demands & Working Environment:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. In addition, the employee frequently is required to stand, walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. This job’s specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. In addition, this position requires the ability to occasionally lift office products and supplies, up to 20 pounds. The position will also require working outside during the summer months.
