Summary of Position: The Human Services Department is seeking a compassionate, detail-oriented Constituent Services Aide to serve as a vital point of contact for residents engaging with Elder Services, Human Services, and English as a Second Language (ESL) programs. This role supports equitable access to city resources, ensures timely and respectful responses to constituent needs, and strengthens trust between the department and the community.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Serve as the first point of contact for constituents seeking assistance, information, or referrals across Elder, Human, and ESL services
- Respond to inquiries via phone, email, and in-person with professionalism, empathy, and cultural sensitivity
- Track constituent requests, follow up on open cases, and ensure resolution in collaboration with program staff
- Maintain accurate records and contribute to monthly reporting on service trends and community needs
- Assist with outreach efforts, including translation coordination, event support, and distribution of program materials
- Support intake and eligibility screening for select services, ensuring confidentiality and compliance
- May require assisting in the Everett Adult Learning Center program coordination; this includes but is not limited to ESL class scheduling, instructor support, participant communication, and space logistics
- Assist in planning and supporting adult and senior programming, including workshops, wellness events, and seasonal activities
- Provide administrative and logistical support for the Senior Work Program, including participant coordination and employer communication
- Manage vendor relationships related to program delivery, including onboarding, scheduling, and performance feedback
Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in human services, public administration, or a related field preferred
- Minimum of two (2) years of experience in customer service, case management, or community engagement
- Bilingual proficiency required; candidates must be fluent in English and at least one additional language commonly spoken in the community (Spanish or Portugese preferred)
Knowledge Skills and Abilities:
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, may include occasional night or weekend work dependent on department programming.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively across diverse populations.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Familiarity with local resources and public benefits.
