Program Dates and Schedule:

  • Training: Paid training from June 23, 2025 – July 3, 2025, 10 hours per week.
  • Program: From July 7, 2025 – August 15, 2025, 40 hours per week.
  • Hours: Monday – Friday, 7:00 AM – 4:00 PM.

Position Overview: The Crimson Kids Program Counselor will play a vital role in creating a safe, fun, and enriching summer experience for children enrolled in the City of Everett’s Crimson Kids Summer Program. Counselors will oversee daily activities, build positive relationships with participants, and ensure program goals are met. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals passionate about working with youth in a dynamic recreation setting.

Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and engage with program participants in daily recreational, educational, and enrichment activities.
  • Assist with planning and implementing age-appropriate activities that promote teamwork, creativity, and skill-building.
  • Ensure a safe environment by adhering to all program policies and procedures.
  • Build positive relationships with participants and serve as a role model.
  • Address behavioral or safety concerns promptly and professionally.
  • Communicate effectively with program staff, parents, and supervisors as needed.
  • Help with the setup, cleanup, and organization of program spaces and materials.

Requirements:

  • Must be 18 years or older.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Interest or experience working with youth in recreation, education, or a similar setting preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, enthusiasm, and a positive attitude.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and maintain professionalism under pressure.

Training Provided: During the two-week training period, counselors will complete the following certifications:

  • CPR/First Aid
  • Mandated Reporter Training
  • Sexual Harassment Prevention Training
  • Additional skills and knowledge related to youth development and recreation.

Physical Demands & Working Environment:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. In addition, the employee frequently is required to stand, walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. This job’s specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. In addition, this position requires the ability to occasionally lift office products and supplies, up to 20 pounds. The position will also require working outside during the summer months.
