BLACK HISTORY MONTH EVENT – History in the Making: Celebrating Everett Youth & Young Adults

February 25, 2023 @ 2:00 pm

Calling all artists! Express what Black History Month means to you in our art contest!

In celebration of Black History Month, Mayor Carlo DeMaria invites Everett students in grades 5-12 to participate in our art contest.

Here’s how it will work

Participants will be divided into 2 divisions:

  1. Students in grades 5-8
  2. Students in grades 9-12

Our panel of judges will decide which creations they like best. Each division winner will receive a Target gift card!

Here’s what you need to do

  • Create a 12″ x 12″ picture on paper or canvas that expresses what Black History Month means to you.
  • Bring your picture to the Rec Center by 1:30 p.m. on the day of the event.
  • Be creative and have fun!

Celebrations for all to partake in

In addition to the art contest, come view our photo gallery to learn about important Black athletes who have impacted their communities outside of the playing field. There will also be food, refreshments, entertainment and remarks from guest speakers for all to enjoy.

For additional information, please call 617-294-0475 or email Mike.DiPietro@ci.everett.ma.us.
