Mission

To enforce in a fair and equitable manner the parking regulations of the City of Everett.

Function

The parking clerk is an appointee of the mayor, with the approval of the city council. The power and duties of the parking clerk are outlined in the Massachusetts General Laws, Chapter 90, sec 20A1/2. In short, the parking clerk maintains and records all parking violations, applies payment and late fees as deemed on parking violations and holds hearings where parking violators can be heard. The parking clerk also issues residential parking stickers and visitors placards.

Parking Meter Stickers

Parking stickers: a device that will be affixed, in an area on the vehicle designated by the Parking Clerk, to the vehicle of an eligible person. Said parking stickers will bear the emblem of the Parking Clerk and the registration number of the vehicle to which it is affixed. Said parking stickers will not be transferable or assignable.

Residential Parking Stickers

During the months of January and February owners MUST submit an online application here in order to receive their FREE residential stickers. Once the online order is complete, stickers will then be mailed directly to the resident.

Street Sweeping

With the change in seasons comes the annual Street Sweeping and Clean Up effort by the City. Starting, usually during the first week in April, Street Sweeping Rules and Regulations will officially take effect. Vehicles parked in violation of street sweeping signs will be ticketed and towed. Check signs in your neighborhood for parking restrictions.
