The Office of
Mayor Carlo DeMaria

I am honored to welcome you to the City of Everett!

Whether you are a resident of Everett, visiting for the first time, or a member or prospective member of our business community, take your time to discover the multitude of opportunities, activities and services the City of Everett has to offer.

On the day of my first inauguration, I made a promise that Everett would be a safer City, a more educated City, a City where businesses want to invest and create jobs, and a City that surrounding communities would look to for ideas and inspiration.

With the hard work of our public servants, the dedication of our elected officials and the commitment of the citizens of Everett, I have kept that promise and together we have put Everett on a path to greatness.

Meet the Mayor

Lifelong Commitment:

Mayor Carlo DeMaria is a lifelong resident of Everett, where he and his wife Stacy raise their 3 children, Carlo, Caroline, and Alexandra. As Mayor, his primary focus is to keep Everett a strong, vibrant, and safe city. He believes Everett’s future success hinges upon elected officials who care about growth, opportunity, and the fundamental desire to enjoy our community.

A graduate of Everett High School and Northeastern University, Mayor DeMaria entered politics in 1994, and since then has served as both a Councilor in Ward Two and as an Alderman-at-Large. He was first elected Mayor in 2007. His philosophy remains the same, serve with passion and with pride in our community and work extra hard to help people. Mayor DeMaria believes that Everett is a great place for families, a great place to do business and a great place to call home.

Administration Accomplishments:

The signing, on April 19, 2013, of a historic Host Community Agreement between the City of Everett and Wynn Development for a $1 billion ( now $2.4B) resort/casino development for Lower Broadway along the banks of the Mystic River.

Capital Improvement Program:

The establishment of a fiscally responsible Capital Improvement Program that has allowed for millions of dollars in critical infrastructure repairs and updates including street and sidewalk repairs, water main replacements, new residential water meters, the renovation of major recreational areas like Glendale Park and tot-lots and playgrounds across the city, the redesign and repair of city facilities including the Shute Memorial Library, Council Chambers, the Police Station, E911, and the Parlin School, and the management and replacement of necessary city vehicles and equipment.

Lasting Growth:

A commitment to Public Safety that has resulted in a 28% reduction in crime over the last 6 years.

The establishment of an expanded Planning and Development Office, which has created and acted upon developmental studies and proposals such as the award-winning Lower Broadway Master Plan, Municipal Harbor Plan, and Commercial Triangle Plan.
