Position Summary:
The Digital Equity Coordinator will play a key role in bridging the digital divide and promoting digital inclusion for all residents of Everett. This position is responsible for planning, implementing, and overseeing digital literacy initiatives, providing one-on-one assistance, and collaborating with community partners to ensure equitable access to technology and digital resources. The Digital Equity Coordinator will engage with residents, coordinate digital skills training, and serve as a primary point of contact for addressing digital needs in the community.
Key Responsibilities:
- Program Development and Implementation
- Develop and coordinate digital literacy programs, workshops, and events to enhance residents’ digital skills.
- Identify community needs and create targeted strategies to increase access to technology and digital services for underserved populations.
- Collaborate with local organizations, schools, and libraries to create outreach programs and build partnerships that support digital equity goals.
- Community Engagement and Outreach
- Engage with community members to understand digital challenges and provide appropriate resources and solutions.
- Promote digital equity programs through various channels, including social media, newsletters, and community events.
- Serve as a liaison between the City of Everett and residents to communicate available digital resources and services.
- Technical Assistance and Support
- Provide one-on-one and group support to residents, assisting with basic digital skills, computer use, internet navigation, and accessing online services.
- Connect residents with resources such as affordable internet services, device assistance programs, and technical troubleshooting.
- Data Collection and Reporting
- Track program participation and outcomes to assess the impact of digital equity initiatives.
- Maintain detailed records of outreach activities, partnerships, and resident feedback.
- Prepare regular reports on program effectiveness and community needs.
- Grant and Resource Management
- Assist in identifying and applying for grants and funding opportunities to support digital equity programs.
- Manage program budgets and resources, ensuring efficient use of funds and materials.
- Policy and Advocacy
- Stay informed about digital equity policies, trends, and best practices.
- Advocate for digital inclusion initiatives within the City of Everett and participate in statewide or regional digital equity efforts.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Education, Social Work, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Experience in community outreach, digital literacy training, or program coordination.
- Strong knowledge of digital tools, applications, and basic troubleshooting.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively with diverse groups.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working with marginalized or underserved communities.
- Bilingual or multilingual skills are a plus.
- Experience in grant writing or resource management.
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
- Work is primarily performed in an office environment with occasional community site visits.
- Must be able to work evenings or weekends as needed to support community events and programming.
- Ability to lift and transport equipment such as laptops and projectors (up to 25 lbs).
