Mission

To provide accurate, courteous and timely election services to the voters of the City of Everett.

Function

The Registrar of Voters is responsible for maintaining procedures relating to the registration of voters, developing and maintaining annual list of voters, and conducting the annual census of residents of the City. The Registrar processes and ensures accuracy and proper certification of all nomination papers and petitions. It also process absentee voter applications, administers election recounts and holds hearings.

The Election Department also serves as a link to the residents of the City by conducting an Annual City Census and an annual Street List Book. The Election Department provides a variety of supplemental services to assist residents within the community. We offer proof of residency statements and notary public services.

City Census

An annual city census mailer is sent to every household. You must respond if you are a resident of Everett whether you are a voter or not. Every person should be listed, including all children and non- U.S. citizens. This is a very important function to the city in regards to state funding as well as keeping your name listed as active on the voting lists.

Election Commission

The primary goal of the Election Department is to promote voter registration and participation in the Electoral process to Massachusetts citizens. Elections are conducted in accordance with Massachusetts General Laws and the Revised Ordinances of the City of Everett.
