We connect residents and small business owners with no-cost energy assessments, rebates, and incentives that lower utility bills and make buildings more comfortable year-round. Our team offers multilingual, culturally relevant support, so Everett gets the full benefit of programs it already pays for through its utility bills.

Schedule a No-Cost Home Energy Assessment
Home and business energy assessments through the Mass Save program are no-cost, no-obligation assessments performed by certified contractors. These quick walkthroughs of a resident’s home, apartment, or small business help diagnose a building’s needs to reduce energy consumption and fossil fuel use, while potentially saving the resident significant utility costs.
What to Expect
After scheduling an appointment that works for the individual, an energy specialist will conduct a walk-through and recommend energy-efficiency improvements. These improvements could include low-to no-cost weatherization (insulation and air sealing), appliance upgrades, and heating and cooling retrofits, with 0% financing. Depending on household income and eligibility, residents can receive up to 100% off all energy-saving upgrades, increasing the comfort, value, affordability, and efficiency of their spaces.

Roadmap for Optimal Energy Savings
Solar Energy Resources
Solar energy positively impacts the environment. By harnessing existing energy from the sun, solar is classified as a renewable, clean energy source. Solar does not emit carbon or other greenhouse gases and therefore does not contribute to global warming. By utilizing solar power, we reduce our reliance on energy produced from fossil fuels, thereby decreasing CO2 emissions and lowering our carbon footprint. Generating your own electricity reduces reliance on the grid and can lower monthly bills and could also increase your home’s property value.
Electrify Everett aims to inform our community about different ways to purchase solar energy and help you choose what’s best for you. Our team will also help connect you with incentives and rebates.

There are three primary methods for obtaining solar energy:
- Cash Purchase: If you have sufficient up-front funding available, you can take advantage of various incentives to lower your costs. Generally, paying everything up-front offers the best long-term savings. The buyer will be responsible for maintaining and repairing the panels.
- Solar Loan: A solar loan is a dedicated financing option used to purchase and install solar panels, which you then pay off in fixed monthly installments. You can explore different loans (such as unsecured, home equity, or installer-promotional financing) to find the best fit for your home and budget. This is an excellent option for those who don’t have enough money to pay for the system up front. Some loans require no down payment, so you can benefit from owning the equipment.
- Solar Lease or Power Purchase Agreement (PPA): This option is ideal for residents who want to minimize upfront costs and prefer someone else to handle maintenance and monitoring of the solar panels. With a lease or PPA, you do not own the panels on your roof and will not receive ownership benefits.

With all options, we recommend comparing several quotes, calculating your expected long-term savings and financial benefits, and assessing whether your rooftop gets sufficient sun exposure. - Plant free trees with the Department of Conservation and Recreation (DCR). The Greening the Gateway Cities Program through DCR is designed to reduce household energy use and improve public health by increasing tree canopy cover in urban residential areas by planting no-cost native trees. Trees help to offset our carbon and greenhouse gases.
