The City of Everett, Everett Police and Fire Departments in collaboration with the Massachusetts State Police, State Police Association of Massachusetts and Tufts University Department of Public Safety are pleased to announce their partnership in hosting G.I.R.L.S. Day 2023!
G.I.R.L.S. stands for Grit, Intelligence, Resilience, Leadership and Strength. Through this event, we hope to empower Everett youth girls from ages 5 to 14 years old to explore these typically male-dominated careers as options for them too. This event was started by Everett’s Director of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Cathy Draine in collaboration with the Massachusetts State Police. It has now become an annual event that is specific to Everett as part of the City’s celebration of Women’s History Month.
Young women will participate in activities like mock crime scene investigations, visits to the fire house, physical exercises with state police, finger printing, obstacle courses and so much more.
Participants must be between the ages of 5 and 14. Please click here to visit the registration page.
That’s ok, because we will be accepting registrations on the day of the event as well. However, we encourage those who are planning to attend to register in advance through this link here: https://everettpolicema.com/?page_id=2862
