Position Summary:
Assisting with HR administrative activities. Being able to maintain a professional and friendly demeanor with all city employees. Will be responsible for answering the incoming heavy call volume daily and directing to the appropriate HR contact. Assist with the daily operational functions of the HR department such as posting jobs, filing, assisting with new hire paperwork, and answering questions in a professional manner. This role works closely with the Human Resources team and must maintain a high level of confidentiality.
Essential Functions:
- Helps with various administrative tasks daily.
- Actively engages in team collaboration around department goals, objectives, and systems.
- Administratively assists with posting jobs, job descriptions, correspondence, policies and procedures and general office duties as it relates to the HR department.
- Submit online job postings, shortlist candidates and schedule job interviews for various departments
- Managing schedules, note taking during employee investigations and other HR related tasks
- Coordinate orientation and onboarding activities for new employees
- Ensures compliance with all federal, state and local employment laws
- Perform CORI/SORI checks and coordinate drug testing
- All other duties as assigned

Preferred Education and Experience:
- 1 year of administrative experience or work history
- High School Diploma
