The City of Everett is reminding residents that the 2026 street sweeping season will begin on Wednesday, April 1.

Street sweeping helps keep neighborhoods clean and prevents trash and debris from entering the city’s stormwater and sewer systems.

Check Parking Signs in Your Neighborhood

Residents are encouraged to check posted street signs for restrictions in their neighborhood before leaving their vehicle parked on the street.

Parking restrictions indicate the days and times when street sweeping occurs and help crews effectively clean city streets.

Vehicles that do not comply with street sweeping rules may be subject to ticketing and towing.

Why Street Sweeping Matters

Regular street sweeping is an important part of maintaining Everett’s infrastructure. By removing trash and debris from roadways, the program helps:

  • Keep streets and neighborhoods clean
  • Prevent debris from entering the stormwater system
  • Reduce maintenance costs
  • Protect underground sewer infrastructure

As the snow from this past winter melts, we’re beginning to see trash and debris on our streets, and it’s important that we keep our neighborhoods clean,” said Mayor Robert J. Van Campen. “We ask residents to check posted signs before parking to avoid ticketing or towing and to give our crews the space they need to keep our community looking its best.”

Reporting Missing or Damaged Signs

Over the next few weeks, City crews will inspect neighborhoods to ensure street sweeping signs are clearly visible.

Residents who notice missing or damaged signs are encouraged to contact Constituent Services and report the street name and location so repairs or replacements can be scheduled.
