The City of Everett has been awarded $10,000 to host a community watch party for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

The funding is part of a $10 million statewide initiative through the Sports and Entertainment Events Fund Grant Program, announced by the Healey-Driscoll Administration. Everett is one of 17 communities selected to support local fan celebrations across Massachusetts.

What to Expect

The City is currently planning a public watch party at Everett Stadium that will feature:

  • A large screen with full sound setup
  • Free, diverse local food options
  • Family-friendly activities

Additional details, including the featured match and event date, will be announced soon.

Bringing the Community Together

“Everett is one of the most diverse cities in the state, with residents from around the world where soccer is a big part of everyday life, making this a natural fit for our community,” said Mayor Robert J. Van Campen. “This is an excellent chance to bring people together in a way that reflects that. We’re grateful to be included and excited to create an event that is open and welcoming for all.”

About the Grant Program

The grant is administered by the Massachusetts Office of Travel and Tourism within the Executive Office of Economic Development. Funding supports:
