Description:
The communities of Everett and Chelsea have been working together developing flood resiliency in the Island End River floodplain and associated stormwater watershed area. The City of Everett wishes to receive proposals and costs submittal elements from design firms or teams to assist them with the full design lifecycle of the project for the Island End River Flood Resilience project in Chelsea and Everett. Interested applicants are invited to submit proposals and rate schedules that would apply over a three-year contract term for associated work in the Island End River floodplain and associated stormwater watershed area to support this effort. Work is anticipated to include some or all of the following tasks:
- managing the administration of the grants,
- conceptual design and land use master planning,
- record data collection and research,
- survey, site investigation, and other exploratory geotechnical/environmental field work,
- advancing design work on coastal flood protection systems and nature-based solutions;
- local, state, and federal permitting to support proposed design,
- stakeholder engagement and public outreach, and
- coordination with local, state, federal, and other agencies.
The effort will include communication with the many stakeholders in the area. With two municipalities, various private interests, multiple state and federal regulating authorities, and advocacy groups involved in work in this region, it is necessary to engage a diverse set of stakeholders.
