The City of Everett is announcing that its community meal program will conclude on August 31, 2026, as the federal funding that supported the initiative comes to an end.
Established through funding provided by the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA), the program has served approximately 400 residents each week over the past six years, helping address food insecurity and providing a reliable source of support for members of the community.
Since its launch, the program has been made possible through the collaborative efforts of the Mayor’s Office, Elder Services, and the Inspectional Services Department, along with the dedicated staff who worked to ensure meals reached residents each week.
“For many residents, this program became more than just a meal, said Mayor Robert J. Van Campen. It became part of their weekly routine and a source of connection. While the funding that made it possible is ending, our commitment to helping residents access food and support services remains the same.”
The City is working closely with local and regional partners to help participants transition to other food assistance programs and services.
