Everett came alive with Crimson Tide pride on Saturday, Oct. 25, as residents, alumni and families gathered for a full day of Homecoming traditions and community celebration. From a morning run to an evening under the lights, it was a day that showcased the heart of Everett.
Running for Tradition: The Homecoming Hustle 5K
The morning kicked off with the Homecoming Hustle 5K, bringing runners and walkers together in memory of Janet Connolly O’Neill. After crossing the finish line, participants and supporters gathered at Everett High School for a delicious pancake breakfast that helped raise funds for Crimson Tide Athletics.
Tide Pride Takes Over Chelsea Street
In the afternoon, Chelsea Street buzzed with excitement for the Pregame Tailgate Celebration. Guests enjoyed great food, live music and camaraderie at the VIP tent, where former Everett players and their families were warmly welcomed back. Cheers erupted as Crimson Tide greats and honored guests took part in the Walk of Champions, leading the crowd toward Veterans Memorial Stadium.
A Lasting Legacy: Honoring Coach John DiBiaso
Before kickoff, the City of Everett and Everett Public Schools proudly dedicated John DiBiaso Jr. Field, honoring the legendary coach’s decades of leadership and impact. Mayor Carlo DeMaria and Coach DiBiaso shared heartfelt words before the presentation of a framed aerial photo of the stadium featuring Coach DiBiaso’s signature now permanently featured in the new field design. The tribute marked a lasting symbol of his legacy in the Everett community.
From Everett to the NFL: Celebrating Crimson Tide Greats
The day reached its peak under the stadium lights as Everett faced Lynn English in the Homecoming Game. At halftime, the community paid tribute to former Crimson Tide athletes who went on to play in the NFL, celebrating not only their success but the enduring spirit of Everett athletics.
