More than 220 Everett families and over 450 children were supported this holiday season thanks to the generosity of residents, local organizations, City staff and the Everett Police Department.
Mayor Carlo DeMaria expressed his appreciation to everyone who contributed to the City’s Holiday Assistance Program and Toy Drive, which has helped Everett families experience a joyful holiday season for the past 18 years. Through donations of unwrapped toys and other holiday initiatives, the community once again came together to support neighbors in need.
In addition to the City’s holiday programs, the Everett Police Department hosted its own toy drives and giveaways throughout the season. As part of their annual 25 Days of Gift Giveaways, officers personally distributed toys to Everett children, helping spread holiday cheer across the city.
Several organizations and community partners played a vital role in the success of this year’s efforts, including:
- The DiDomenico Foundation
- Ocean State Job Lot
- Schiavo Club
- Teamsters Local 25
- and many generous Everett residents.
Mayor DeMaria also thanked City staff who worked behind the scenes to make the program possible. Staff coordinated applications, verified eligibility, organized donated items, contacted participating families and ensured toys were distributed smoothly and fairly.
“The holiday season truly brings out the best in Everett,” said Mayor DeMaria. “Between the City’s Holiday Assistance Program, the Everett Police Department’s toy drives and giveaways, and the generosity of so many individuals and organizations, hundreds of local families were supported this year. I am grateful to everyone who played a role in helping our residents enjoy the holidays.”
