General Duties:

Under the direct supervision of the Supervising Nurse, perform a variety of professional nursing and health education functions and duties.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Maintain and review health records of all students in public schools within the City of Everett; perform health screening including immunizations, weigh and measure annually; conduct hearing and vision tests as required; conduct annual postural screening on all students. Coordinate physical exams of students entering fourth and eighth grades; mail proper forms, schedule appointments for requests of exams at the Board of Health and Participate in those exams.

Responsible for administration of medications for students during school hours.

Administer emergency first aid as necessary. Monitor all communicable diseases and record on student’s health records; provide data on communicable diseases to Board of Health.

Perform other related duties as directed or assigned.

Minimum Entrance Requirements:

  • Current RN License with the MA Board of Registration.
  • Knowledge of nursing and public health functions equal to completion of three years of college
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing preferred.
  • Current certification in CPR and First Aid from a recognized provider.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • MA Driver’s License.

Visual Skills:

Visual demands require reading documents for general understanding and analytical purposes.
