The City of Everett is seeking dedicated residents to serve on its boards and commissions. Whether you’re passionate about history, development, equity, or library programming, there’s a place for you to make a real difference in your community.

Who Can Apply

Serving on a board or commission is easier than you might think. To be eligible, you must:

  • Be 18 years of age or older
  • Live in Everett or own property in the city
  • Have a desire to serve your community!

City Boards & Commissions

The City maintains a wide range of boards and commissions covering nearly every aspect of civic life. Some positions are paid while others are on a volunteer-basis. Current and upcoming openings are available on the following bodies:

Disability Commission

  • Paid position – $1500 annually
  • 2 positions open
  • Work on full and equal participation in all aspects of life by persons with disabilities in Everett.

Historical Commission

  • Unpaid position
  • 1 position open
  • Protect and disseminate information about Everett’s history.

Library Board of Trustees

  • Paid position – $2000 annually
  • 3 positions open
  • Make recommendations to the Director for the expenditure of the gift and trust accounts for the Everett Public Libraries.

Redevelopment Authority

  • Unpaid position
  • 2 positions open
  • Manage various infrastructure, housing and redevelopment projects in Everett.

Zoning Board of Appeals

  • Paid position, $1500 annually
  • 2 positions open
  • Regulate the rules on what and where you can build in Everett.
