Staying informed during emergencies and important citywide events just got easier.

The City of Everett has launched a new City Alert System, designed to deliver timely, reliable updates directly to residents, businesses, and visitors. This system replaces the City’s former CodeRED notification service.

What is the City Alert System?

The City Alert System is an opt-in notification service that allows Everett to quickly share critical information when it matters most. Alerts may include:

  • Severe weather and emergency notifications

  • Public safety updates

  • Road closures and traffic disruptions

  • Water, power, or utility advisories

  • Other city announcements

Messages can be delivered by text message, phone call, or email, depending on your preferences.

Why the Change?

The City previously used the CodeRED alert system. After a cybersecurity attack affecting that platform, Everett made the decision to transition to a new alert system that offers improved reliability, flexibility, and security. (You can read more about the cybersecurity attack on our previous news post.)

The updated City Alert System allows the City to communicate more effectively across multiple channels and ensures alerts can be delivered quickly during time-sensitive situations.

Why Sign Up?

During emergencies, accurate information can help people make safer decisions for themselves and their families. This system ensures residents receive updates directly from the City without relying on social media or word of mouth. (You can read more on the City Alerts page.)

Signing up also helps the City reach more people quickly, especially during unexpected events.

How to Register

Registration is quick and easy. Residents can sign up and manage their notification preferences on the Everbridge site.

You can choose how you receive alerts and update your information at any time.

Help Spread the Word

We encourage residents to share this resource with neighbors, family members, and local businesses.

Staying informed is one of the simplest ways we can all stay prepared and connected.
