As temperatures drop and heating bills rise, Everett residents have an opportunity to save this winter. If you use a heat pump to keep your home warm, you may be eligible for a special residential heat pump rate from National Grid.

This seasonal discount helps lower your electric delivery costs between November and April, making clean, efficient home heating more affordable. By taking advantage of this rate, residents can enjoy the comfort and energy efficiency of a heat pump while keeping monthly expenses manageable during New England’s coldest months.

How It Works

From November 1 through April 30, customers using heat pumps can take advantage of a reduced electric delivery rate, making it easier and more affordable to stay warm this winter.

Estimated monthly savings:

  • R-1 customers: $70–$141 per month
  • R-2 customers (income-eligible): $20–$96 per month

Already Have a Mass Save Heat Pump?

If your heat pump was installed through a Mass Save program in 2019 or later, you may already be enrolled in the discounted rate. Check your next electric bill for the “Heat Pump Rate” label to confirm your participation.

Test Your System Before Winter

With colder weather approaching, residents are encouraged to turn on their heating systems early to ensure everything is working properly. Testing your system now helps identify issues before temperatures drop and gives the City time to connect you with assistance if needed.
