About the Role:

The City of Everett’s Farmers Market will serve as a vital hub for local food, community connection, and economic opportunity, in a community classified as a “food swamp” with limited access to inexpensive fresh produce. To ensure continued growth, improved vendor experiences, and robust community outreach, we seek funding to establish a parttime Market Manager position for the upcoming season.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Recruit and support vendors, including new and underrepresented producers
  • Organize and supervise weekly market set-up, operations, and breakdown
  • Coordinate marketing efforts, including social media and local partnerships
  • Facilitate food access programs (e.g., SNAP/EBT)
  • Liaise with Everett’s public health officials and ensure compliance

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education and Experience:

  • High School Diploma
  • 1-2 years of retail experience
  • At least 1 year of experience in event coordination, market management, farmers market, or a related filed.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Experience with vendor management or small business operations

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of local agriculture, food systems, or sustainable farming practices
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
  • Ability to lift up to 30lbs and stand for extended periods on market days

Additional Requirements:

  • Reliable transportation to and from the market site
  • Familiarity with social media marketing and basic graphic design tools
  • Bilingual skills a plus

  • Lifting up to 30lbs
  • Standing, kneeling, squatting
  • Outdoors
